Product Description
The 8000 and 8700 series designed with the inner ring extended on one side offers many application advantages especially when used in conjunction with other parts that provide added bearing protection. This type bearing is being utilized in equipment such as fractional horsepower motors, vacuum cleaners, small gear units and electrical tools.
The 88000 series bearings is similar in function to the 8000 and 8700 series except that it features an extended inner ring on both sides to provide additional shaft sup port. When assembled with the proper press fit, the extra width of the inner ring provides a more firm grip on the shaft reducing the possibility of shaft creep. These bearings are produced with seals on both sides for effective grease retention and exclusion of foreign matter.
Wide cup bearings, where the outer ring is extended flush with the inner ring on one side, are available in this series by noting the WC prefix.
Sealed bearings use rubber closures that offer the best resistance from contaminants but are not ideal for dissipating heat.
